In a surprising turn of events, Luisangel Acuna has been traded to the Chicago White Sox from the New York Mets. This transaction, reported by Jeff Passan of ESPN.com, also included Truman Pauley heading to the Windy City in exchange for star player Luis Robert.
As the 2025 season kicked off, Acuna started out as the Mets' primary second baseman. However, his performance did not quite meet expectations, resulting in a notable decrease in his playing time. Over the course of 193 plate appearances, he posted a batting average of .234, with a .293 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .274.
Now, Acuna's move to the White Sox could provide him with a fresh opportunity to establish himself in Major League Baseball once again. Nevertheless, he will encounter stiff competition at second base, particularly from Chase Meidroth, who is also vying for a regular spot in the lineup.
