Tragedy strikes on Highway 7 as a collision leaves one person dead.
The Ontario Provincial Police have officially reported that a fatal accident took place on Highway 7, claiming the life of one individual. This unfortunate incident occurred just before 10 p.m. on Friday night, specifically situated between Kaladar and Arden Road.
Involved in this collision were a transport truck and a pick-up truck, leading to the tragic outcome. Emergency responders, including members of the Frontenac OPP, firefighters from Central Frontenac Township, and paramedics from Frontenac, quickly arrived at the scene to assist.
Regrettably, the driver of the pick-up truck, who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead on-site. In contrast, the driver of the transport truck was transported to a nearby hospital, with the extent of their injuries still undetermined.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident, receiving support from the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team, which includes specialized Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Collision Investigators to help uncover the details surrounding this unfortunate event.
As a result of the accident, Highway 7 remains closed for traffic between Highways 38 and 41 to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
