These filings provide a sneak peek into the changes needed to adapt the Desmo450 from dirt to street, an idea Ducati initially teased at the 2025 EICMA trade fair.
Ducati kept the details scarce, but the design submissions to the European Union Intellectual Property Network are painting a clearer picture. Some changes are straightforward to comply with road regulations, like adding mirrors to the handlebars, turn signals, and a headlight. A license plate mount at the rear is another essential addition for road legality.
But there's more beneath the surface. The leaked design suggests significant modifications to the exhaust system, which now includes a catalytic converter and emissions equipment to meet road standards.
